Improving website speed

Improving
website speed

Lately we have been meeting quite a few site owners and SEO specialists who are trying to score 100 out of 100 on Google PageSpeed Insights.

In this post we recommend three WordPress plugins that will make your life easier.

Plugin one, image optimization:

Large images significantly slow down your site's load times.
To avoid slowdowns caused by heavy images, we recommend installing WP Smush, Image Optimization.
This plugin compresses unused data in your images, which means you do not sacrifice quality to optimize them.

Plugin two, Autoptimize:

The structure of your site's code affects load times. The more spaces and line breaks in the code, the longer the load time.
To avoid slowdowns caused by spaces and line breaks in the code, we recommend installing Autoptimize.

This tool minifies and compresses your HTML, CSS and JavaScript files.

Plugin three, caching:

One of the challenges of working with WordPress is that as a site grows, it tends to become heavier and slower to respond. The more plugins and heavy graphic files a site has, the slower it loads.
A caching plugin creates a cache. In practice, it creates a static copy of content that the system usually generates dynamically, which speeds things up considerably.

We recommend installing the w3 total cache plugin.

We would love to hear what you think of this article, and whether you have other ways to solve the issues mentioned.
